MY Weight Loss Journey

Ok, y’all. We’re about to get real.  Although lengthy, this post is about my journey to getting healthier, happier and lighter (in more ways than one).  Get ready to find out my heaviest weight and my current weight (28 pounds down!), my struggles and my triumphs.  I am a firm believer in being confident in your body, no matter the size, but it’s important to be healthy too.  This is just the beginning for me. Enjoy, and I’d love to hear about your health journeys! Leave me a note in the comments on how you stay healthy and happy!  (more…)

San Diego!

San Diego!

Girls Trip – April 13-16, 2017

Thursday:

My roommate/cousin/bff and I decided to go on a girls trip to San Diego since we were sick and tired of the gloomy San Francisco weather!  We jumped on a plane straight from work and headed down to warmer weather.  We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina since it looked to be pretty central to all the activities we wanted to do.  All checked in, we went on yelp to find a spot for dinner and stumbled upon Voltaire Beach House. It was such a great spot, half indoors and half outdoors, with trivia night in session as we arrived.  We kept our eyes on the s’mores option for dessert, but by the time we remembered (thanks drinks) the kitchen was already closed. Don’t worry, we went back for them on Saturday and they were totally worth it. (more…)

Staycation + Spa Weekend

Staycation + Spa Weekend

Memorial day weekend – May 28-29, 2017

Sunday:

I decided to round out the holiday weekend with my first #staycation in San Francisco after nearly 10 years of living in this city.  Hello weekend of spa activities, relaxation, hotel bathtubs and shopping! I booked myself an 80 minute aromatherapy massage at one of the nicest spas I’ve ever seen, Nob Hill Spa, and decided to stay the night at the hotel, Scarlet Huntington to truly make it a relaxing staycation.  At Nob Hill Spa, with getting any one of their services, you get access to all of their facilities which includes a large indoor infinity pool, hot tub, zen room (nap time!), eucalyptus steam room, dry sauna, showers, etc. and the option for a poolside lunch. Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Memorial Day Weekend – May 27, 2017

Saturday:

Memorial Day weekend started off this year with a great idea from my friend, Sam: Stand Up Paddle boarding (SUP) in Sausalito!  The weather looked like it was going to be a cold day, low 60s, but we remained committed to trying SUP boarding.  Is that how you even say that? Luckily, driving over the Golden Gate Bridge revealed that the fog was quickly burning off and the sun was shining over Sausalito.  We decided to rent SUP boards from Sea Trek (click the name for their website!) after reading their great Yelp reviews.  Now, I’ve been SUP boarding before in Lake Tahoe, but the water and winds are pretty calm. Sam hadn’t tried it before.  The first thing the Sea Trek employees tell us: Oh well it’s a little windy out there, you sure you want to try it? And of course, we didn’t realize what exactly that meant, so we were still down to try it out.   (more…)

Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz – June 2 – 4, 2017

This past weekend, I went on a quick weekend road trip with my friend, Erin, down to Santa Cruz via Highway 1, which was such a gorgeous drive.  We stayed at a cute little AirBnb near Natural Bridges Beach, which had slightly rusty bike cruisers that we were able to use.  It was a weekend full of sun, laughter and happiness. Here’s what happened:

Friday:

Friday night we hit up the Beach Boardwalk and even jumped on a few rides: hello Giant Dipper! I hadn’t ridden the Giant Dipper in almost 15 years and was dying of laughter.  It’s the most rickety ride I’ve ever been on.  We thought we were going to fly right off with every turn. (more…)

Hello, It’s Me!

Hello, It’s Me!

First post, y’all.

I’m so excited to begin this journey!

I decided to start a blog after my friend brought up the idea of starting one herself.  While she was talking, I couldn’t help but think that was a great idea, but that it’s not for me, no way do I have time for that, and what would I even write about?  Turns out, what she said stuck with me, and, here we are.  I want to create my own platform where I can document on-goings in my life, so I can one day look back at what I’ve created and dig through the memories.  I also want to improve my writing skills, work on my photography from my trusty iPhone, and see what I can do with something a bit outside of my comfort zone.  This will be such a fun learning process, I can’t wait to get started.
